Then he ordered the crowds to sit down on the grass, and taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and said a blessing. Then he broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds. Matthew 14:19
In the last monthly prayer meeting of 2021, while gathered virtually with faithful friends, brothers, and servants of this ministry. A dear friend ended his prayer by mentioning the story of Jesus in which, with just five loaves and two fish, he fed a crowd of more than five thousand people! JUST AMAZING, RIGHT?!
In the last three weeks, that story has been in my head. I must confess that I cried and cried like a child during that prayer and even after when I was left alone because I felt overwhelmed by the future. POINT is a ministry of faith: we live by faith, we exist by faith. And our goal each year should be to reach more people and show them the love of Christ in different ways.
My eagerness had overwhelmed me, and for a moment, I had forgotten the most important part of that story: "..and taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and said a blessing." Just as Jesus took the loaves and the fishes, He has taken us, and we are in his hands, in his plans. He will do his perfect will, provide and multiply according to his purposes in the same way he has done until today! ABUNDANTLY!
With a couple of hours left in this complex and challenging year for the entire world, we must face another year on the calendar, whether we are ready or not. But if there is something I can be sure of, it is that the Lord has taken us!
This beautiful story is found in the four gospels, and I invite you that after you finish reading this letter, you read the story and see what the Lord has prepared for you through that reading.
