In Honduras, 1.1 million children from ages 3-17 are currently not enrolled in school. Many end up dropping out because their families can't afford school supplies, uniforms, or backpacks.
We know that failure to complete the basic cycle of primary school limits future opportunities for the children. POINT HONDURAS, as an organization that fosters education, created the Backpack Program.Our backpack program has the goal to yearly provide each POINT child a backpack filled with school supplies, school shoes, and uniforms.
