Dr. Iván Laínez
Point Honduras is led by Dr. Ivan Lainez, whose life story reflects the mission of the organization.
Growing up in a community much like those where Point serves today, Dr. Ivan experienced firsthand the impact that compassionate service can have on a child’s life. His family was involved in a local church that welcomed mission teams, and through those experiences he witnessed genuine love, generosity, and a commitment to serving others that inspired him from an early age.
Motivated by that example, Dr. Ivan pursued a career in medicine. His passion for helping others eventually led him to Point Honduras in 2010, where he discovered a ministry that shared the same values that had shaped his life.
After serving in leadership roles within the organization, Dr. Ivan accepted the position of Executive Director in 2014 and felt called to dedicate himself full-time to ministry and community transformation through Point.
Under his leadership, Point Honduras has grown to serve more than 850 children through its community centers and operates three medical clinics that provide care to approximately 30 patients each day. The organization has also expanded its educational programs and strengthened partnerships with schools and community organizations to better serve children and families.
Dr. Ivan is passionate about serving the Lord with excellence, compassion, integrity, and perseverance. Together with his wife, Ana, and their son, Diego, he remains committed to helping children and families build brighter futures across Honduras.

At Point Honduras, our diverse team comprises teachers, cooks, and cleaners—all deeply committed to community empowerment. Our teachers conduct home visits, pastors preach the Gospel, and every member plays a vital role in fostering positive change within local neighborhoods. We're grateful for their dedication to nurturing children through the lens of the Gospel
