Psalms 111: 2-5
One of the most amazing things about God is that He is faithful. Whenever He makes a promise, He keeps it. We see this theme repeatedly throughout the Bible, and for POINT Honduras this it is no different.
This year through many trial and errors, we have accomplished re-starting our school tutoring program, and it has been very successful. The need for our students to be back in a school setting has been urgent. Although our time with them because of COVID-19 restrictions is less than what it used to be, we have managed to help them develop their math and grammar skills.
Our kindergarten students have been so excited and eager to learn and to develop new friendships. It is so great to have them back in our classrooms! We have 60 this year and if you want to help us sponsor a little one, let us know!
Our feeding program continues to provide food security to children. By the end of this month, 103,600 meals will have been served in our centers. Because of the COVID-19 regulations, children continue to take their meals "to-go".
Our clinics continue providing much-needed health care access, and our churches continue growing; in the next month, we will have baptisms. The Lord is good!
We are so delighted to share that we continue strengthening our relationships with the public schools around our neighborhoods. Besides providing the zoom accounts, we have provided printed materials for children who don't have access to connectivity.
In the next couple of months, we will start the parent seminar "THE ART OF PARENTING" with Campus Crusade Honduras, Walk Thru the Bible Honduras, and Our Daily Bread Honduras. The seminar will be offered online to our POINT families and the parents of the 8 schools we have partnered with. Please keep us in our prayers are we try to reach more families to share practical ways to become better parents and share with them the Gospel.
In May, we had the wonderful visit of Dr. Ivan to Memphis. We had a wonderful time meeting with friends, donors and starting to build relationships for future partnerships. We are so thankful for the opportunity to be at Harvest Church, Fellowship Church, Ryan and Rose, and Orphanos golf tournament. Thank you to everyone who invited us into your homes or workplaces and allowed us to share with others the wonderful things the Lord is doing in Honduras. Thank you for being POINT ambassadors!
FUTURE PLANS
Last year during the Eta and Iota hurricanes, two homes of our POINT children were destroyed. We prayed for the opportunity to rebuild their homes, and we are so excited to share that the Lord answered! Our friends from Knox Sports will be coming to Honduras to build Rostyn his home. They will be our first team post-covid lockdown, and we are so excited! This will be our third home to build with them, and we are so thankful! They will be joining us on August 18th. Would you please pray for the health and safety of the team? Please also pray that the weather is favorable for construction.
